Police Arrest 'Quick Change' Scammers

BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - Police in Cheektowaga arrested two men suspected of multiple quick change scams on Monday.

Police responded to the Home Depot in the Thruway Plaza around 8:30 a.m. Monday morning on a call of larceny from a quick change artist. A license plate associated with the suspected vehicle was provided and entered into a plate reader equipped on a police vehicle en route to the scene.

Police located the vehicle on Walden Avenue and pulled it over. The two occupants were identified by the victim as having conned the business twice. Both occupants were placed under arrest. Police also say that the same two individuals were responsible for stealing cash from a Walmart at the Thruway Plaza several days earlier.

Dijon Harris, 43 of Buffalo and Tracy Stewart, 41 of Buffalo have been charged with multiple counts of Petit Larceny and Scheme to Defraud. The two were also charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and False Personation. Additional charges may be added.
