According to the Miami Herald, a single-engine plane crash landed on Florida's Turnpike near Hollywood early Wednesday afternoon.
Two people were on board the plane when it landed around 1 p.m., according to the report. It was unclear the extent of any injuries suffered by the passengers, but the story says the pilot -- a 49-year-old man -- was taken to an area hospital with back pain.
According to the Herald story, a member of the Florida Highway Patrol said that mechanical issues appeared to cause the emergency landing.
