Buffalo- Parents at Pinnacle Charter School must scramble to decide where to send their children for school this year after a state decision to close the school.
Parents and staff at the school were notified late this afternoon that the school would be closing.
The State Education Department will be in Buffalo tomorrow to meet with Pinnacle officials and Buffalo Public School officials to decide how to transfer the 560 K-8 students.
The decision is tied to a 2012 vote by the New York Board of Regents not to renew the school's charter for last year.
Lawyers for the school managed to get an injunction on the decision but with no court hearing, it expired on August 22.
School officials say they are fighting to keep the school open.
