AKRON, N.Y. (WKBW) Perrys Ice Cream now makes over 500 different items and produces 12-million gallons of ice cream each year.

For the holidays, the company is bringing back two favorites (Peppermint Stick & White Christmas), and introducing a new flavor (Apple Pie).

Perrys started in 1918 when founder H. Morton Perry bought a small dairy farm in Akron, NY.

In 1932, Perry began selling ice cream to Akron schools in order to make extra money during the Depression era.

The ice cream was so popular that demand soared through the decades, forcing the company to move to larger locations in the 1970's and 1980's.

Today, Perry's offers 75 different flavors and is considered one of the two largest ice cream producers in New York State.

The company also has sales outside New York in Eastern Ohio, Pennsylvania, and in New England.

Perry's is now offering a chance to win free home delivery of its Christmas ice cream to anywhere in the US.

More information about the sweepstake is available through Perry's Facebook page.
