TOWN OF PERRY, NY ( WKBW ) The Perry Police have closed a disturbing case of rape, kidnapping, and assault after the body of a man they say is responsible was discovered in a field in Livingston County.

A Perry woman is recovering after a weekend of unimaginable abuse.

Perry Police say a man they have arrested several times in the past for assault and harassment, 44 year old Ronald Dacey, arrived at the home that he and the victim share on Elm Street Friday evening, and attacked the woman while she was asleep.

Mike Grover of the Perry Police Department told Eyewitness News, "He prevented her from leaving, tied her up, stated that he was going to kill her."

The victim tells police that for nearly 48 hours, Dacey beat, raped, and sodomized her...and Sunday afternoon the nightmare got worse.

Grover stated, "He had brought her down to the living room and was going to blow her and himself and the house up. He sat her down on the couch and set up some acetylene tanks in front of her, and then went into the kitchen for some reason, and that's when she was able to run out the front door."

The victim ran to a neighbor's home and called 911. She was taken to Wyoming County Community Hospital, and later Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester for multiple injuries.

Dacey fled from the home with the victim's car.

Monday evening, a few miles away, Livingston County Sheriff's Deputies discovered the car and Dacey's body in a field off Perry Road after he apparently took his own life.
