Pedestrian Hit by Car on Grand Island
GRAND ISLAND (WKBW) Police are investigating a crash involving a car and a pedestrian on Grand Island. It happened Friday night on Stony Point Road. Authorities say 23 year old Joshua Khreis from the Town of Grand Island was driving south on Stony Point Road and struck 62 year old Stephen Turner. Police say Turner had gone to his vehicle, and parked along the southbound lane to get some belongings. After getting his belongings from his vehicle, Turner stepped into the southbound travel lane, upon which time Khreis struck Turner. Grand Island Fire Company treated Turner, at the scene; Mercy Flight transported Turner to Erie County Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
