TOWN OF WHEATFIELD, NY (release) - A Niagara County Sheriff deputy sustained is recovering tonight after a car drove into the back of his patrol car. Police say at the time of the accident the deputy involved was conducting a traffic stop on Niagara Falls Boulevard just south of Schultz Road. Around 8:30 Monday morning a vehicle southbound on Niagara Falls Boulevard, driven by Lorrie Wolski, 25, of Tonawanda, drove into the rear of the stopped patrol car. The patrol car was moved forward by the force of the collision causing it to strike the vehicle that the deputy had pulled over for a traffic infraction prior to the accident.

The deputy was taken to Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport where he was treated and released for a head laceration. Wolski and the other driver were not injured in the collision. Wolski is charged under the move over law.
