Long Time Staff Member At A Hamburg School Remembered

HAMBURG, N.Y. (WKBW) – Funeral arrangements have been announced for a Hamburg woman killed in a collision on Friday.

Pamela McDonnell, 63, a staff member at St. Frances High School for more than 20 years, was killed Friday night. Police said she lost control of her car on an icy road and slid into traffic. Her car was then t-boned by a truck.

Friends and co-workers said McDonnell was a loved and respected member of the school community.

Shawn Connolly from St. Francis High School commented, "A true symbol of what it means to care about a community and give back to a community and work hard on a daily basis."

Calling hours are scheduled for Monday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Then again on Tuesday, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Peter and Paul Church in Hamburg on Wednesday at 10 a.m.

McDonnell is survived by her husband of over 40 years, four children and five grandchildren.
