Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW-TV) - Republican candidate for Governor, Carl Paladino purchased a $75 Amtrak ticket-- one way-- for N.Y.S. Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver.
The ticket is for November 3rd, 2010-- one day after the Gubernatorial election.
It's from New York City to Washington D.C.
It's in response to comments Silver made Wednesday that New Yorkers should consider "leaving the state" if Paladino wins the election.
The one-way ticket is an unconventional campaign ploy-- but then again-- Paladino's campaign has been anything but conventional.
"It's an underdog campaign-- and under funded so they need to do things that will give them free attention," says Canisius College Political Science Professor Michael Haselswerdt.
"They want to do things visual-- and try to get Carl's message out there that way."
Assemblyman Silver was not available to comment when Eyewitness News contacted his office Thursday.
