GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (WKBW-TV) Today Miracle League participants stepped on to the field at Veterans Park for the first time this year.
The league started more than 20 years ago in Georgia, but came to Buffalo in 2010.
Special rules and a wheelchair accessible field allow disabled players of all ages the chance to play baseball.
Every player bats and scores a run once each inning.
Today six teams started their seasons. Games will be played on Thursday's and Sunday's at Veterans Park in Grand Island.
