BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - Buffalo Olmsted Conservancy's Party for the Parks fundraiser will take place on Friday, September 24th at Olmsted Park. The theme is South Beach Salsa.
Channel 7's owns Bridget Blythe will be hosting the event. There will be a number of bands to help set the mood, fire dancers and a scooter give-away. Food and drinks will also be sold.
Marcy Casino, on park grounds, will be converted into an authentic South Beach nightclub. All the money raised will go toward improving the Olmsted Parks System.
"We expect to raise $50 thousand and that will help us to plant more trees or it will help us to hire zone gardeners to take care of these historic landscapes. It's just so meaningful to us. But what's also meaningful to us is that we have people coming out supporting their Buffalo Olmsted Parks," Olmsted Parks CEO Thomas Herrera-Mishler said.
Tickets to the event can be bought online for $20 or at the door for $25.
