BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - A Buffalo man jailed in Detroit could face additional charges now that the police officer he is accused of running down with his car has died.

Saddam Hussein Mohsin, 30, a married father of five from Buffalo, is already facing assault with intent to commit murder charges.

He is accused of driving the wrong way on a one-way street in the Greektown section of Detroit on June 5 and running down Officer Charles Armour, a 16-year veteran of the Detroit Police Department.

Officer Armour was directing traffic at the corner of Monroe and St. Antoine Streets when he was run over.

He died one week later in the hospital.

Wayne County prosecutors could file additional charges against Mohsin, but will wait for autopsy results which will determine Officer Armour's exact cause of death.
