The family members of Flight 3407 crash victims celebrated a victory on Sunday. President Obama signed a bill into law in the oval office on Sunday requiring new airline safety and pilot training standards. Congress passed the bill on Friday.
The law is a direct result of the plane crash that killed 50 people in Clarence Center in February of last year.
Senator Charles Schumer (D-New York) and Congressmen Brian Higgins (D-Buffalo) and Chris Lee (R-Clarence) are scheduled to meet with the 3407 families group in Clarence on Monday to discuss the next steps which include making sure the Federal Aviation Administration implements the new regulations quickly.
