Enough Astronauts? Study Says No

A report released Wednesday by the National Research Council says that NASA's shrinking number of astronauts will not be enough to fill the demands of future International Space Station missions, according to a story on Space.com.

According to the report, there are 61 active astronauts in 2011, compared to 150 in 1999. A large percentage of that decrease came as a result of the retirement of NASA's space shuttle fleet this year.
