AMHERST, NY (WKBW-TV) - Construction workers are out on Niagara Falls Boulevard, as they begin an eight hundred thousand dollar project that will make the roadway more pedestrian friendly. Department of Transportation officials think that adding modern pedestrian push buttons along with cross walk countdown signs will make for a safer, and more comfortable environment.
D.O.T. officials created the project to make all intersections on the Boulevard comply with the Americans With Disabilities act.
Construction will span from Tonawanda Creek Road to Eggert Road and is expected to be completed by late fall.
