NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. (WKBW) - Many of the areas that are still recovering from last month's flooding were hit again on Friday night.
The storm caused some major damage and widespread power outages throughout the area.
Swing sets and cars are submerged in water. Also, massive tree branches snapped in half. Hundreds of people are left with flooded basements.
"I have never seen this much water," said Robert Nowak, whose basement flooded. "I have been in Wheatfield for 20 years I have never seen this much ground water ever."
Nowak said when he woke up to his basement filled with water, he called the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Department. They've been helping residents pump out their basements all night.
Nowak said he couldn't be more thankful to the firefighters who left their families, and their own flooded homes to help others in need.
Also, many left without power Saturday night.
The storm left 20,000 people in the dark in Western New York.
Power companies have been working to restore power.
National Grid said customers in the hardest hit areas will have electricity back later in the day Sunday.
