A New York City man was arrested Sunday after he entered the Attica Correctional Facility with a pocketknife.
24-year-old Jeremy Wilson was arrested Sunday. Wilson allegedly entered the prison in an attempt to visit a relative when he was found to be in possession of a pocketknife.
Corrections personnel initially seized the weapon and attempted to remove him from the facility when he became belligerent.
Wilson was taken into custody and detained until troopers arrived for the arrest. He was arraigned on charges of Promoting Prison Contraband and Criminal Trespassing.
Wilson was remanded to Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail. He'll return to court at a later date to answer the charges.
