BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - To celebrate the 25th year, the ball will have a new look. It will be much brighter, with multicolored lights.

You can watch the Ball Drop in Buffalo, and New york City live right here on Channel 7.

Keith Radford and Joanna Pasceri will be live in downtown Buffalo for countdown to 2013 at 11 P.M.

Eyewitness News will also bring you live reports with host Ryan Seacrest from New York City on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin Eve beginning at 8 P.M.

Buffalo police will have extra patrols working throughout the evening.

The mayor says police will utilize the sky watch unit at the plaza. That's a new device that debuted last month. It provides law enforcement with a birds eye view of the crowd.

This New Year's Eve there is a free alternative to driving home.

The Designated Drivers of Buffalo will give rides, in customers own cars, from midnight to 4 A.M.

Attorney William Mattar says he's paying the tab tonight, so all rides are free.
