(MSNBC.com) A new search for the remains of a U.S. woman missing and presumed dead in Aruba, or evidence against her travel companion, was launched Monday by island authorities.

But NBC News reported that a witness has come forward claiming he saw Gardner and Giordano leaving a beach together, and that she did not get into the water.
