BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - It was already a big night of big dreams.
"I haven't been this excited since my wedding night," said Dan Singer as we walked into HSBC Arena before Wednesday night's win over the Atlanta Thrashers.
The first game of the Pegula Era was already reason to celebrate. The Sabres won, 4-1.
Before the game, Singer and a few hundred fans who were walking into the arena got a surprise when new team owner Terry Pegula personally greeted fans with handshakes and autographs.
The crowd surrounding him chanted, "Terry! Terry! Terry!"
"It's really a pleasure to have someone like that come in and try to take over the team. He's been a big fan for a long time. It's just really good to see," said Sabres fan Jeff Torcasio.
"Terry Pegula is better than advertised. He's a wonderful human being. Buffalo deserves somebody like this," said President of the Buffalo Sabres Ted Black.
