New Interim Director of Niagara County SPCA Named

WHEATFIELD, NY ( WKBW ) Eyewitness News has confirmed that Amy Lewis as been named interim director of the Niagara County SPCA.

Attorney Paul Cambria, who has been working on behalf of the facility, noted that Amy Lewis has a strong track record, working for many years at the Erie County SPCA with their director, Barbara Carr.

It was Carr who released a report several weeks ago about the operations and care of animals at the Niagara facility after allegations of abuse and mismanagement surfaced, leading to the resignation of director John Faso and several board members.

Cambria told Eyewitness News that Lewis is familiar with support groups and has experience with "no kill" operations.

Lewis is expected to be on the job at the Niagara County facility Thursday.
