BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - Downtown Buffalo might have just gotten a little bit funnier. With the help of local comedian Kristen Becker, Helium comedy club will open up in the Cobblestone District, with an adjacent bar/restaurant called Elements, that will open separately and will also service the club. Helium plans to open later this year.
Helium is a well known chain of comedy clubs, the first one opened in Philadelphia back on 2005. Owned by Marc Grossman, Becker reached out to him to open the venue, and will be the General Manager.
The club will be located at 30 Mississippi Street, where WJ Morrissey's Irish Pub and Benchwarmers Sports Bar and Grille are located currently, but both bars are expected to leave by the end of this month.
This new comedy venture opens up the scene for local and national talent to be showcased in Buffalo.
