BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - A new cell phone application is aimed at keeping kids safe behind the wheel.

The new state-of-the-art parental-controlled application called TextZapper prevents the ability to text, e-mail or web surf while the vehicle is in motion.

The downloadable application kicks in and disables texts, e-mails and the internet once the vehicle hits 10 mph. It also helps to eliminate the temptation of checking those texts and e-mails while driving.

The TextZapper application costs $5 a month and can be downloaded here.
