New 'Call of Duty' Big Hit Among Gamers

BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - It's called "Call of Duty: Black Ops" and some say it will be the biggest money making video game in history.

Gamers lined up Monday night to get their hands on the game when it was released at midnight. Play-n-Trade, a video game story in Tonawanda, held a sneak preview and release party so customers and could try the game out before they bought it.

Video game enthusiasts said it has a unique plot, taking place during the Cold war, modern graphics and some say it's just fun to play.

"Call of duty tends to be more realistic. They've updated their graphics so it looks really realistic," gamer Al Gore said.

Play-n-Trade Owner Matthew Winnicki said it's has a reputation that draws gamers in.

"Call of duty is a long running series people love the game, love playing the game...and is the best first person shooters. It's just a long running series that people are familiar with and it improves with every sequel," Winnicki said.

The game's prequel "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" made more than $550 million. "Black Ops" is expected to do even better.

Western New York also has a connection to the game. Local actor, Thom Tran acted in the commercial for the game alongside Kobe Bryant and Jimmy Kimmel. He also played many of the characters in the video game.
