The Boys & Girls Club of Holland opened a new, expanded facility.
The nonprofit youth organization moved to a 2.2-acre site in the village on Vermont Street at the former Kingdom Hall. It was purchased with help from the Holland Kiwanis.
The former site on Old Main Street had no parking lot and a tiny yard. The new facility is not only 1,600 square feet larger, it includes a parking lot with 50 spaces, several acres of green space and an outdoor basketball court.
The project was funded through a $1.3 million capital campaign, which included grant support of $264,100 from the John R. Oishei Foundation
Founded in 1971 as the Boys Club of Holland, the nonprofit organization changed its name in 1985 and expanded to programming for girls.
