BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) A new anti-smoking campaign by the FDA is targeting teenagers, by using the two things that mean most to them; their image and losing control.

The fifteen-million-dollar campaign is called “The Real Cost” as it deals with the real effects of smoking.

“The feedback we got from the target audience, the kids, was that the messages were understandable, they were powerful, they were meaningful,” said FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg.

The new anti-smoking campaign will run in more than two-hundred regions throughout the United States for the next year.
