The sun was still shining and bullets were flying from what neighbors describe as a big gun on the 900 block of Northland Avenue near Stevens Avenue on Buffalo's east side around 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Police say an unidentified man was killed.

A neighbor who did not want to be on camera tells Eyewitness News the victim's nickname was "Shooter."

Residents watched in shock as his body lay in the street for several hours before being removed from the scene.

Just before 9 pm a dark blue SUV was hauled away from the scene as well which neighbors say was the car the victim was in before the attack.

That same source tells us that this shooting was in retaliation for a shooting on Sunday that killed a man in his 30's on Carl Street near East Delavan Avenue, just one block away from Thursday's crime scene.

Neighbors believe that the man killed Thursday on Northland Avenue was the man who shot and killed the victim on Carl Street on Sunday.

Police have not confirmed whether the two shootings are related.

The names of the victims from either shooting have not been released and no one has been arrested.
