BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - The 32nd annual JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge was held in Delaware Park Thursday evening, with almost 13,000 people participating in the 3.5 mile run.
About half of the participants walked while thousands more celebrated summer with their co-workers in a massive tent city of 445 local companies.
"It's a good networking thing," said Kelly Lyon, a CPA at Delaware North Companies.
The Corporate Challenge is held in 13 cities around the world, but Buffalo has the distinction of being the best attended per capita, officials said.
Vasilis Kariolis won in the men's category. He's a CPA at Dopkins & Company, LLP. Kariolis finished with a time of 17:49.
Geometry teacher Jenny Koeppel-Acker from Amherst High School finished first for the women with a time of 20:32.
