NYSDOT Announces Traveler Advisory

(WKBW release) The New York State Department of Transportation announced that highway construction will begin on NY Route 198 westbound (Scajaquada Expressway), in the vicinity of NY Route 5 (Main Street) and Kensington Avenue, in the city of Buffalo. 
 
As a result, several travel restrictions will be in place beginning Friday, April 20, as follows:
 
NY Route 33 ramps to NY Route 198 westbound
The on ramps from NY Route 33 (Kensington Expressway) to NY Route 198 westbound will be reduced to one lane beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20, until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21.
 
NY Route 198 westbound
NY Route 198 westbound, between NY Route 33 and Parkside Avenue, will be reduced to one lane beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20, until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21.
 
Humboldt Parkway on-ramp to NY Route 198 westbound
The Humboldt Parkway on-ramp to NY Route 198 westbound in the vicinity of Oak Grove and Loring Avenues will be closed beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20, until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21.
 
This work is weather sensitive and may be delayed in the event of inclement weather.  New York State Police will be onsite for speed enforcement and traffic control.
 
Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.  In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license.
