NYS Assembly Passes Bills Allowing Peace Bridge Authority to Dissolve

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - The NYS Assembly has passed a bill allowing the Buffalo Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority to dissolve as it was originally designed to do.

The bill, sponsored by Assemblyman Sean Ryan, states:

"On July 1, [2020] 1992, or when all of the bonds issued by the board hereunder shall have been paid in full or shall have otherwise been discharged, whichever shall be later, the powers, jurisdiction and duties of the board shall cease and the property and assets acquired and held by it within the state of New York shall thereafter be under such jurisdiction, authority or agency as the state of New York may hereafter designate by law, and the assets and property acquired or held by it within Canada shall be under such jurisdiction, authority or agency as Canada may designate."

The bill has been delivered to the Senate for a vote.
