They've been making electricity from the force of Niagara Falls and the Niagara River for more than 100 years now. Sixty per cent of the electricity made here stays in Western New York.
Enough juice to power two and a half million homes. And there is more, it's estimated the low cost power enjoyed by so many local businesses helps to provide more than 40 thousand jobs here. There is also an educational and tourist aspect. Eighty thousand people visit the Power Vista, overlooking the gorge, every year. Keith Radford has an inside look at Niagara Power.
