NIAGARA FALLS, NY (WKBW) -- Michael Harvey's run from police ended four states and 680 miles away from Charlotte, North Carolina on Monday -- in Niagara Falls, NY.

Harvey, the suspect in the murder of Valerie Hamilton, 23, in Charlotte, was found near his boyhood home in the Cataract City. Police described him as lethargic, surrounded by drug paraphernalia and high on drugs.

"We had no substantive information whatsoever that he was here," said James Robertson, Special Agent in Charge of the Buffalo FBI office.

"But we had our men and women from various agencies out there on the streets -- conducting an investigation and it ended up successful," Robertson said.

Hamilton disappeared early Wednesday morning after going to a tavern where police believe she met Harvey and was murdered not long after. The question is -- where -- and how?

Detectives from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department are in Western New York to interview Harvey, who is scheduled to appear in Niagara County County on Tuesday morning for an extradition hearing.
