Amid a labor dispute with its players, the NBA on Monday night announced the cancellation of the first two weeks of its regular season, according to a USA Today story.
Representatives for the NBA and its players union met on both Sunday and Monday in New York, according to the report, but are far apart on key issues.
It marks the first time the league's first labor stoppage since the 1998-99 season. The NBA season was scheduled to begin Nov. 1.
