BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - Now in its eleventh year, Music is Art has become a regular stop on the Buffalo festival circuit.
But this year, the festival was washed out. Heavy, steady rains kept people away, leaving the organization founded by Goo Goo Dolls member and Buffalo native Robby Takac in debt.
"This year the rain just pummeled us. So all those normal avenues of income were not there for us, unfortunately," Takac said.
Music is Art is asking for donations to help it continue its programs for kids, which includes a music camp and providing instruments for those who cannot afford them.
"If we could raise $100,000 tomorrow, that would be more than we lost and we'd be able to run programming like crazy," he said.
An anonymous donor is offering to match every donation, dollar for dollar, through Christmas.
