WEST SENECA, NY (WKBW) West Seneca Police have charged Joseph Ayer, 30, with Criminally Negligent Homicide in the death of Chelsea Olsen.

Ayer was driving his motorcycle on the night of March 20, 2012, when he was involved in a crash on Route 400 in West Seneca. 24-year-old Chelsea Olsen was a passenger on the motorcycle.

A spokesperson for the West Seneca Police Department says Ayer was speeding when he slammed his motorcycle into the back of a pickup truck. The impact threw Olsen from the motorcycle.

Olsen was pronounced dead at the scene. Ayer was taken to ECMC with minor injuries and was released a short time later.

Ayer is charged with Criminally Negligent Homicide, a Class E Felony that carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
