Mother of Burn Victim Admits Stealing Donations Meant for His Recovery

According to the Star Tribune, a 40-year-old Minnesota woman pleaded guilty this week to stealing $2,500 in donations intended for the recovery of her son who is a burn victim.

The woman was sentenced to 60 days in jail and must pay restitution to her son after pleading guilty to one count of theft by swindle, according to the Star Tribune. Prosecutors had alleged that the woman and her brother used some of the money to gamble, according to the Star Tribune report.
