BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - 51-year-old Eva Cummings pleaded guilty Wednesday to the murder of her mentally and physically disabled daughter.
Cummings pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in addition to several other charges including felony assault, endangering the welfare of an incompetent person and unlawful imprisonment, which was elevated to a hate crime because her daughter was mentally challenged.
Cummings was charged back in January with suffocating 23-year-old Laura Cummings inside their North Collins home, which was dubbed a 'House of Horrors' by authorities.
The District Attorney's office says Laura Cummings endured a torturous life of rape, imprisonment and abuse at the hands of her own mother and half-brother.
51-year-old Eva Cummings now faces 58 years to life in prison when sentenced in November.
Cummings son, Luke Wright appeared before a judge last week who is expected to rule where he is mentally fit to stand trial. Wright is accused of torturing and raping his half-sister.
