16 People Left Homeless After Apartment Fire

LOCKPORT, N.Y. ( WKBW ) 16 people, including 3 children, are left homeless after a fire inside an apartment building.

The incident happened inside an apartment building on Dysinger Road in Lockport.

The fire started in one apartment, where firefighters quickly got it under control. However the apartments sustained extensive smoke damage.

The Red Cross is assisting 13 adults, 3 children, and one dog. Some people were treated on scene.

It is not known at the time of this posting if anyone was transported to an area hospital.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
