NIAGARA FALLS, NY (WKBW-TV) - During a Wednesday morning search orchestrated by community members, the body of 67-year-old Judith Burr was found next to a tree in a wooded area just off 102nd Street in Niagara Falls.
Her husband reported her missing on Friday night when he got home from work. That night police say a search was done of her neighborhood which included officer's going door-to-door, canine assistance from Niag. County Sheriffs Office and Lewiston PD as well as a search of the area by Niagara County Sheriffs helicopter, Searches were also done of buildings in the area, including the senior citizens center where her car was discovered. The search for her has been active and on-going ever since.
Around 9:35 am Wednesday Mrs. Burr was found deceased in a wooded area just east of 102nd Street during a search organized by volunteers. Mrs. Burr was found by a volunteer searcher- off-duty Niagara Falls Fire Fighter Bruce Reynolds. Niagara Falls Police Detectives and Crime Scene Officers were on scene as well.
At this time we do not have a cause of death and Detectives are still actively investigating the matter. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday by the Erie County Medical Examiners office.
