A Medina man reported missing since Wednesday night, has been found safe in Batavia, the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office said.
Patrick J. Dugan went missing sometime after 7 p.m. Wednesday, after wandering away from a group of friends in the backyard of a residence on West Shelby Road in Shelby.
About 10:30 a.m. today, an off-duty Medina police officer, M.R. Borrell, was driving along Route 63 in the town of Batavia when he saw Dugan walking along the road, deputies said. Borrell alerted the Sheriff’s Office and Dugan was ultimately picked up.
Dugan told deputies he had been walking around since Wednesday night trying to “clear his head.” He claimed he was unaware that he was the subject of a missing person report. He was subsequently transported to his residence in Medina.
