Lewiston, N.Y (WKBW) After missing for nearly 70 years, the 400-page diary of Reich Minister Alfred Rosenberg has been found in Western New York.

Rosenberg was one of Hitler's closest confidants and had intimate knowledge about the Nazi's "Final Solution" to exterminate the Jewish population.

The diary, which covers the years 1936 to 1944, was found in the home of a local academic - Herbert Richardson.

Richardson is declining media requests to talk about the matter.

The Department of Homeland Security and the US Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington are planning a press conference for Thursday to talk more about the diary's recovery.
