BUFFALO, NY ( WKBW ) "Wicked," the Broadway hit is back on stage at Shea's, giving audiences a chance to discover that the wicked witch of the west wasn't so wicked after all.

For actress Jackie Burns as "Elphaba" the witch, it is an opportunity to perform in her dream role!

In an exclusive backstage interview while she was "transformed" into a green witch, Jackie told Eyewitness News about her character, "She's an amazing woman, she's an activist, she is so true to her beliefs!"

Some would say Jackie is pretty amazing. She has been with the show for 9 months. Her every performance has a pre-show ritual.

"I warm up, vocalize, do jumping jacks, and get the blood moving," she said.

In addition to that, she goes "green" with makeup artist Rob Harmon. He applies what Jackie calls "landscape green" every night in a process that takes about 15 minutes.

While Kermit The Frog from Sesame Street used to sing, "It Ain't Easy Being Green," Jacki says it is fun, and all about casting a spell on her audience.
