BUFFALO, NY (release) - At 3:30 a.m. Saturday, a car driven by Roman A. Dunnigan, 33, of Amherst, struck an eastbound vehicle on West Delavan Avenue that had stopped at a red light and was attempting to turn left onto northbound Main Street.

Dunnigan’s car then crashed into the concrete curbing, went airborne and struck the station.

Transit police officers went to Erie County Medical Center and found Dunnigan, who admitted that he was driving the vehicle that landed on the station.

Dunnigan was charged with leaving the scene of a personal-injury accident, reckless driving, speeding, failure to keep right and unsafe passing.

Both he and the other driver, Ashley S. McNeal, 22, of Buffalo, were treated and released from ECMC.

The station remains closed as Metro works to repair the damage and get the facility in a condition that is safe and functional for the public to use.
