Mercy Flight, Extrication Equipment Needed in Lockport Accident

LOCKPORT, NY (WKBW) Mercy Flight transported a 20-year-old accident victim early Sunday morning.

The Niagara County Sheriff's Office reports the woman's truck crashed into a pole on Rapids Road near Plank Road in the Town of Lockport at 3:24a.m.

Deputies discovered the woman was pinned in the driver's seat. She was not responsive. There were no other passengers in the vehicle.

Firefighters with the Rapids Volunteer Fire Company used extrication equipment to free the driver from the truck, and she was flown by Mercy Flight to ECMC.

The victim's name and condition are not being released at this time. Deputies continue to investigate the cause of the crash. No other vehicles were involved.
