Buffalo, NY
(WKBW)
The 26 faces of people from Western New York that were killed in the September 11th attacks and although the victims came from 26 different walks of life, their family and friends look forward to meeting at the annual September 11th Memorial Service for Western New York united as one.

The county's American Red Cross helped coordinate the event and nearly 3,000 flags were placed in the lawn at the Red Cross Headquarters in memory of each person killed in the tragedy. But for the 26 Western New Yorkers the flags were placed in a heart shaped circle with one white rose.

Leigh Macadlo lost her twin brother that day who would have been 40 this year.

A memorial with everything from steel pieces recovered from the twin towers, photos and other keepsakes were on display inside the Red Cross building.
