BROCTON, N.Y. (WKBW) - Family and friends came together to host a memorial event to remember Damon Janes, and raise money for his family.
This September marks one year since the Westfield-Brocton football player was killed after a helmet-to-helmet hit on the field.
At the event on Saturday, local leaders and the Janes family announced a new concussion and traumatic brain injury law. It focuses on increasing public awareness about the dangers of these injuries and creating stricter guidelines on and off the field.
