Buffalo, NY (WKBW) -The Western New York Independent Living Inc. held a rally for people with disabilities Tuesday morning. The group is concerned with the cuts to Medicaid under Governor Andrew Cuomo's proposed budget, specifically the recommendations coming from his newly created Medicaid Redesign Team. According to The WNYIL Inc, the cuts to home care approved by the redesign team will force many into managed care.

"We want Medicaid to work smarter not harder, but not on our backs. So many of the governor's cuts fall right on us," said Todd Vaarwerk of the WNYIL Inc.

It's now up to the state legislature to approve Cuomo's proposal before it would become law. The budget deadline is April 1st.
