Buffalo, NY (WKBW) - As the primary election quickly approaches, the race for Buffalo's next mayor heats up.

The last debate before the primary election takes place Tuesday night.

Political expert says expect development to come up. "Jobs is always a significant issue issue," Davis says. "I don't care whether your running for the Mayor of Buffalo or the President of the United States. It's the economy."

That's one of the issues Mayor Byron Brown, Democratic challenger Bernie Tolbert and Republican candidate Sergio Rodriguez will debate.

Davis says just like in previous debates, also expect a focus on crime. Mayor Byron Brown has pointed to FBI statistics showing a dramatic crime decrease in the Queen City. Tolbert and Rodriguez argue Buffalo is becoming one of the most dangerous cities in the country.

Davis says with Buffalo's failing schools in the spotlight, expect education to be front and center.
