BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - Smoke filled the air over Buffalo Monday evening, as a vacant, three-story structure is burned out of control.
The building at 1950 Elmwood Avenue near Hertel caught fire around 8 p.m.
The blaze started in the rear of the building, creating thick billowing smoke that could be seen for miles. Firefighters had trouble gaining access to the flames, which went to two alarms.
The fire caused parts of the building to collapse, though no injuries were reported. Officials estimate damages around $500,000.
