Orchard Park (WKBW.com) Bills Head Coach Chan Gailey announced on Wednesday that Mario Williams had a procedure done on his left wrist to "relieve some discomfort".
Gailey says Williams had the wrist addressed on Tuesday but did not know where the procedure took place. Williams missed practice on Wednesday but is expected back with the team next Monday. Gailey claims Williams is not expected to miss any games.
"They told me what happened and said he'll be ready next week, that's all I know right now., said Gailey. "I don't know if they did something non-invasive or invasive. You can ask him, he'll be here on Monday", Gailey continued.
Williams has continued to point to hjs injured wrist as a reason for his slow start. Williams has 3.5 sacks and 20 tackles through the first seven games. Gailey believes the procedure will help.
"Every advantage that you can get mentally for every player is great. Everything that makes them feel better about play, it helps", said Gailey.
Williams should benefit from having the procedure done during the bye week. "That's when you take care of things, is the bye week. If you have got some little things you can take care of, that's when you do it.", continued Gailey.
Gailey also revealed that guard Andy Levitre had a small procedure done. He is not expected to miss any time.
Bills players have four days off for the bye week break. The teams next practice will be next Monday.
